The National Committee on Biosafety of the Philippines (NCBP) was created by Executive Order No. 430 on 15 October 1990 to provide oversight to all genetic engineering experiments with the issuance of Executive Order No. 514 in 17 March 2006. The science-based determination of biosafety in all genetic engineering experiments was strengthened, enhancing its decision making process.
